Hall Building Projects <br /> <br />Finance Director indicated that staff has reviewed several of the public safety facility/city <br />hall building project bid packages that were not awarded at the time the bids for the facilities <br />were considered. Lori requested Council approval of the recommended bids. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN MOVED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING BIDS <br />FOR THE CITY HALL/PUBLIC SAFETY FACILITY BUILDING PROJECTS: <br /> <br />· BID PACKAGE #22, TWIN CITY TILE AT $111,600 <br />· BID PACKAGE #25, ,MCI AT $51,070 <br />· BID PACKAGE #31, HALDEMAN HOMME AT $10,326 <br />· BID PACKAGE #37, HALDEMAN HOMME AT $20,236 <br />· BID PACKAGE #38, HALDEMAN HOMME AT $19,622 <br />· VOICE & DATA CABLE, DELL-COMM AT $184,201.62 <br />· SECURITY SYSTEM, PRO-TEC DESIGN, INC. AT $149,814 <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER KUESTER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />6.4. <br /> <br />Consider Financial Management Plan Recommended Action - Establish Storm Sewer <br />Improvement District <br /> <br />Finance Director Lori Johnson indicated that the Financial Management Plan includes an <br />action item to set up a storm sewer improvement district to finance activities under the <br />Surface Water Management Plan. She noted that in order to establish this District, the <br />Council must hold a public hearing. <br /> <br />Mayor Klinzing indicated that the public has been nonsupportive of this type of tax in the <br />past and that she would not be in favor of adopting this type of an ordinance. The Council <br />requested staff to provide more information on this issue prior to making a decision to call a <br />public hearing. <br /> <br />6.5. Consider Contribution to Rivers of Hope <br /> <br />City Administrator Pat Klaers updated the Council on the request for contribution from the <br />Rivers of Hope. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER KUESTER MOVED TO CONTRIBUTE $3,000 TO THE <br />RIVERS OF HOPE. COUNCILMEMBER TVEITE SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />6.6. Tobacco Compliance Checks <br /> <br />City Clerk Sandra Peine noted that Snyder Drug has failed three tobacco compliance checks <br />within a 24-month period. She indicated that the penalty according to the City's ordinance is <br />a $250 fine and a minimum of seven days suspension of the tobacco license. <br /> <br />The Council discussed the issue of the license suspension. Councilmember Dietz suggested a <br />30-day suspension. There was some concern that this may be too long of a suspension. The <br /> <br /> <br />
