PR Committee

Ed reported that the PR Committee has a ton of ideas. There are a whole lot of ways for us to get
our name out there. One suggestion is to include a flyer with Meals on Wheels in order to present
information to Seniors. Also, suggested meeting with the Volunteer Bridge to make a
presentation to them.

Next Meeting
August 8,
8:30am - at
Emporium

Finance Committee

Program Committee

Facilities Committee

Nick reported on the Finance Committee. They met on July 18. Bob Lawson with YMCA
Capital Fund Raising joined the committee. Bob recommended that the committee separate into
two committees; Finance and Fundraising. Bob told the committee that the YMCA of the USA
has a YMCA Capital Development Planning Manual and he will get a copy to Chad. He
recommended that the Y develop a Case Statement which is a written document stating what the
community's needs are and what the Y will supply to meet these needs. Chad has a rough draft of
this document. The Y also needs to identify key individuals in the community to serve on the
committee to develop this Case Statement. With three million dollars to raise, Bill gave some
statistics to the committee regarding those funds; typically 90% of the fired come from 10% of
the donors. He also offered the idea of selling naming rights to the building or rooms within the
building.

Michelle gave the Program Committee update. This fall's programming will potentially include
Youth in Government for High School youth. Sunday, August 4, is National Youth Day mn by
the Boys and Girls Club at Lion's Park. The Y will have a booth for popcorn and games. We will
also participate in the 2nd Annual Family Fest on August 7, at Lion's Park from 6-8pm. It will be
held in conjunction with the City Recreation Dept. We will offer pony rides, games, etc. In June,
approximately 300 people attended this event. We are discussing hosting a Senior Expo to be
held at the Senior Center. We would like to provide some water exercise classes for local seniors.
Summer programs are going well. We have between 35-45 children each week. With that
enrollment figure, we are not losing money and hope to have this program evolve into a Fall
school release program. We may make use of Camp Manitou for our Fall program. The School
District currently runs their own programs. Chad said that it is possible to partner with them, it
just hasn't been successful as of yet.

Chad reported that the committee has not met since our last meeting. The Committee is looking
at two building locations and trying to see which location makes the most sense. Still trying to
schedule "walk throughs" of those locations. It is important to make this choice as soon as the
committee meets for its walk through. While the Committee makes the recommendation, it is the

Next Meeting,
August 8th
7:00am - at NRG

Next Meeting,
August 28
8:00am

Next Meeting,
August 30
11:30am
