REQUEST FOR ACTION <br />To Item Number <br />Planning Commission L <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Plannin Items Ma 22, 2007 erem Barnhart, AICP <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Discussion regarding Commercial Recreation Uses in the Scott Clark, Community Development <br />Business Park Director <br /> Reviewed by <br />Action Requested <br />Discussion <br />Background/Discussion <br />At its meeting on May 8, 2007, the Planning Commission requested additional information regarding <br />a proposed amendment to the City's Business Park zoning regulations, specifically relating to <br />"Commercial recreation". <br />The following staff memo attempts to provide information to help facilitate the discussion, with the <br />hope that direction can be given toward development of a formal amendment. <br />Attachments <br />None <br />Overview/ Analysis <br />When considering a use for a district, it is important to consider the use, the intent of the district, <br />and also the needs of the use (building size, access, utilities, etc.) Other issues to consider include <br />the compatibility of a use with adjacent uses. <br />Terms <br />The Defined terms in the current ordinance follow: <br />Commercial recreation means a building, structure or open space designed, constructed and operated <br />by a private enterprise for recreational purposes and open to the general public. Such facilities may <br />include bowling alleys, tennis courts and other leisure uses. <br />
