~lk Ri
Issue
FROM: Steven B. Ach, City Planner.
DATE: March 6, 1995
SUBJECT: Administrative Subdivision by the City
of Elk River, Public Hearing Case No.
AS 95-01
The City of Elk River is requesting an Administrative Subdivision to divide a
parcel of land to accommodate the ice arena complex.
Location
Directly northwest of the senior high school building and south of the
residential plat School View First Addition.
• Zoning/Land Use
Rlc (Single Family Residential) / MR (Medium Density Residential).
Attachments
• Location Map
• Survey of Subject Property
• Attachment A
Overview
The requested Administrative Subdivision involves carving out
approximately a 3 acre parcel from the senior high school complex to
accommodate the existing and new ice arena. This 3 acre parcel will be
conveyed to the City of Elk River, who will then own and operate the ice
arena complex. Typically, subdivisions of land have access directly to a
public street, however, in this case access will have to cross school property to
the ice arena. With the appropriate cross access and cross parking
agreements, the accessibility issue will be adequately addressed. This
• situation will be similar to several commercial projects where lots are created
ITEM 7.1.
MEMORANDUM
V~~ TO: Mayor and City Council
13065 Orono Parkway • P.O.
