ilk REQUEST FOR ACTION <br />River <br />To Item Number <br />Ci ~ Council 5.1. <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Public Works October 1, 2007 Tex Maurer, Public Works Director <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />MnDOT/SRF Proposal fox Geometric and Environmental Lori ohnson, Ci Administrator <br />Study on TH 10 in the Downtown Axea Reviewed by <br />Action Requested <br />If the City CouncIl is comfortable with the proposal from MnDOT/SRF fox Geometric and <br />Environmental Study on TH 10 in the downtown area, they should authorize an amendment to the TH <br />169 contract to add this portion of TH 10. <br />Background/Discussion <br />As directed by the City Council, we have worked with Craig Robinson of MnDOT and their consultant, <br />SRF Consulting Group to put together a scope of services fox a geometric and environmental study on <br />the downtown portion of TH 10. Attached is a project schedule and a detailed project work task. The <br />project schedule indicates that alternatives will be analyzed and ready fox City Council discussion and <br />selection of a preferred alternative in approximately S - 6 months after beginning work. The entire scope <br />of services including approved environmental documentation and geometric layout will take <br />approximately 18 months. The cost of the study is estimated at $500,000. <br />Financial Impact <br />The Capital Improvements Program (CIP) has set aside $500,000 of Street Improvement Reserve Funds <br />fox this study in 2008.
