<br />S. Performs communication and reporting activities. <br />A. Composes documents, edits written Diaterials and writes routine correspondence and <br />reports, responds to requests for information and complaints. <br />B. Communicates openly and effectively with staff. <br />C. Supervises the development of promotional materials, which will keep the public informed <br />on the recreational facilities and activities. <br /> <br />9. Performs other essential job duties. <br />A. Regular and timely work attendance. <br />B. Follows all safety procedures. <br />C. Participates in safety training. <br /> <br />Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities <br />o Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. <br />D Ability to research and conduct studies related to recreation trends and issues and update plans <br />accordingly. <br />D Ability to manage several projects at one time and to organize personnel for high levels of <br />productivity. <br />D Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with a wide variety of <br />recreation-related interest groups. <br />D Ability to supervise staff and motivate employees to work to their full potential. <br />D Ability to remain up to date on professional knowledge and skills. <br />D Ability to organize and guide public policy discussions that apply to recreation matters. <br />D Ability to positively engage the public in ways that build constituent use and ownership of <br />recreation programs and facilities. <br />D Skill in conflict resolution and the ability to manage departmental issues fairly. <br />D Knowledge of the principles and practices of administering recreation programs and facilities. <br />D Ability to assume duties of various Recreation Division staff on an interim basis, if needed. <br /> <br />Minimum Qualifications <br />D Bachelor's degree in Park and Recreation Administration or related field. <br />D Five years progressively responsible experience in the field of recreation. <br />D Three years supervision experience. <br />D Valid driver's license. <br /> <br />Preferred Qualifications <br /> <br />D Master's degree in Park and Recreation Administration or related field. <br /> <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Recreation Manager (2).doc <br />
