Oversees recreation programming. <br />A. Coordinates the planning of City youth and adult recreational programs. <br />B. Oversees scheduling and use of park facilities; works with the School District for the <br />maximum utilization of facilities and resources. <br />C. Develops public support for recreational programs. <br />D. Oversees the registration of recreation programs. <br />E. Coordinates division activities, monitors operations, and ensures compliance to relevant <br />guidelines; makes prudent decisions regarding exceptions to policy. <br />F. Evaluates recreational programs, facilities, maintenance activities and safety conditions for <br />making changes necessary to assure programs, facilities, etc. are attaining the expected <br />results and meeting established goals. Uses appropriate data to support recommendations, <br />including site visits when appropriate. <br /> <br />2. Performs short and long-term planning & budgeting. <br />A. Monitors trends in recreation to maximize programming opportunities for the community. <br />B. Seeks, develops and implements grants for the development of and programming. <br />C. Assists in the preparation of the annual division budget. Oversees the implementation of <br />approved budget. <br /> <br />3. Performs staffIng and personnel activities. <br />A. Provides supervision of regular staff. <br />B. Provides direct supervision of some part-time programming staff. <br />C. IdentifIes staffIng needs, recruits and lftains employees. <br />D. Delegates work for programming purposes. <br />E. Assesses and manages employee performance, and disciplines employees when necessary; <br />performs timely annual performance ~eviews of all employees supervised. <br /> <br />Page 1 <br />
