<br /> <br />REQUEST FOR ACTION <br /> <br />To <br />Ci Council <br />Agenda Section <br />Consent <br />Item Description <br />Resolution Accepting Contributions to the City of Elk River for <br />the Archeological Dig <br /> <br />Meeting Date <br />Au st 6, 2007 <br /> <br />Item Number <br />3.6. <br />Prepared by <br />Rebecca Haul!, Environmental Admin <br />Reviewed by <br />Lori T ohnson, City Administrator <br />Reviewed by <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Staff is requesting the Council approve the Resolution accepting donations as outlined on Appendix A <br />which were made to the City of Elk River for the Archeological Dig. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />The City of Elk River, on behalf of the Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC), has continued working <br />with St. Cloud State University (SCSU) doing archaeological work at the Hoebelheinrich property off <br />Twin Lake. <br /> <br />As you may recall, the City and SCSU each budgeted $10,000 for this year's dig. This amount only covers <br />the archaeologist's time, any licensing, and paperwork necessary to conduct the excavation and to report <br />the results thereof. Because of this, the City has requested donations from area business. I have <br />attached a resolution stating the amount and type of donation we have received from these businesses. <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br /> <br />Attachments <br />.
