The main <br />duties and responsibilities of this position will be accounting related. The Assistant will <br />be responsible completing many of the more complex accounting transactions and <br />reports. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The proposed pay range for this position is between $35,000 and $45,000. This, of <br />course, will be refined as part of the Comparable Worth study now underway. The new <br />Assistant's starting salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience; <br />hopefully, that salary requirement will not be above midpoint so there is still room for <br />future increases. <br /> <br />The City received 49 requests for applications and information on this position. The <br />deadline for submitting an application is 4:30 p.m., Friday. As of noon today, Friday, 28 <br />applications have been received. The selection process will include an interview and a <br />short test relating to municipal finance. <br /> <br />A verbal update on the applicants will be given on Monday after the application deadline <br />has closed. <br /> <br />Action Requested <br /> <br />The City Council is asked to review, revise if necessary, and adopt the attached job <br />description.
