<br />Creation of Task Force <br /> <br />The Sherburne County Board of Commissioners authorized the creation of an <br />Economic Development Structure Task Force pursuant to the provisions of <br />Minnesota Statutes 469.1082, Subdivision 2 on April 26, 2006. <br /> <br />A copy of the County Board Resolution and other organizational documents, <br />including the membership and staff/consultant lists as well as minutes from the <br />June 21,2006, July 13, 2006, July 27,2006, and August 10, 2006 meetings are <br />included in the Appendix for reader reference. <br /> <br />The Sherburne County Board of Commissioners determined that formation of the <br />Task Force was necessary as a means to most effectively meet their established <br />goal of working cooperatively with local governments to build a strong County tax <br />base and to encourage the development of quality employment opportunities <br />within Sherburne County. <br /> <br />Task Force Compliance with Statutory Requirements <br /> <br />Membership on the Task Force is consistent with the statutory direction and <br />included in the appendix. <br /> <br />The statutory directive for the Task Force is to issue its report within 90 days of <br />its initial meeting has been complied with by the submission of this report to the <br />Sherbume County Board of Commissioners. <br /> <br />Issues Considered by the Task Force <br />The statute requires that the Task Force issue a report identifying: <br /> <br />1. existing economic, housing and community development programs <br /> <br />2. economic, housing and community development services provided by <br />the existing agencies; <br /> <br />3. any gaps in programs and services; <br /> <br />4. the capacity and ability of existing agencies to expand their activities; <br /> <br />5. the recommended organizational option for providing needed <br />economic development, housing and community development services <br />throughout the County in the most efficient manner; and <br /> <br />2 <br />
