<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />City Council Minutes <br />January 2, 2007 <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />8. <br /> <br />Other Business <br /> <br />Councilmember Gumphrey stated the severance package for Prosecuting Attorney Chris <br />Johnson and Legal Secretary Jennifer Johnson should be discussed by Council. <br /> <br />Ms. Johnson stated the Prosecuting Attorney Interview Committee has discussed this and <br />suggested paying Chris Johnson until March 31, 2007, with an additional three months of <br />insurance beyond his termination date. She stated there is a vacancy for the Secretary <br />position in the Administration Department that Jennifer Johnson could fill but staff would <br />like to keep her in the Legal Department until legal services are transferred to the Hawkins <br />law firm. She stated the contract with the Hawkins f11:m would begin April 2, 2007. <br /> <br />The Council requested that the Hawkins f11:m be able to start earlier in order to work with <br />Chris Johnson toward a smooth transition. <br /> <br />The Council directed staff to put together information on how the transition for the new <br />firm is to be handled and the severance package for Chris Johnson. <br /> <br />9. Council Updates <br /> <br />There were no Council updates. <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />Staff Updates <br /> <br />Ms. Johnson provided an update of board and commission vacancies. <br /> <br />11. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br />There being no further business, Mayor Klinzing adjourned the meeting of the Elk River <br />City Council at 7:10 <br /> <br />J <br />L- <br /> <br /> <br />Tina Allard <br />City Clerk <br />
