He <br />indicated that the project being discussed this evening is the reconstruction of Irving Avenue <br />and the adjacent roads east and west. Also included is the milling and overlay, along with <br />concrete curb repair, in the Holt Avenue, Gates Avenue and 8th Street area south of School <br />Street. Finally, the alley paving will be discussed. . <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Questions and Answers <br /> <br />After the presentation was complete, the informational meeting was open to questions. The <br />following is a S1im.IIiaiy of the questions. asked and the answers given: <br /> <br />Q: Will there be a say or a-vote for the residents on the sidewalk issue? <br /> <br />A; Testimony can be given to the City Council at the public hearing regarding the <br />sidewalks. . The Gty Council will be the ones ultimately deciding on where sidewalks <br />are constructed. <br /> <br />Q: How far into the yard will the sidewalk go? <br /> <br />A; All sidewalk construction will be kept within the right of way. Where possible, a 5-6 <br />ft. wide boulevard for lights, hydrants, signs and snow storage would be provided <br />with the sidewalk behind the boulevard area. <br /> <br />Q: Who is responsible for any tree removal? <br />- ~ ~ - . <br /> <br />A; Any trees that need to be removed would be done under the project. <br /> <br />Q: Why is the northerly area being considered for only a mill and overlay? <br /> <br />A; Because the pavement condition is much better in that area and it already has a <br />banier style curb and gutter which only needs to be repaired. <br /> <br />Q: What would be the impact on the storm sewer outlet due to the storm sewer <br />improvements and why can't the Irving Avenue area only have a mill and overlay? <br /> <br />A; If you look at the pavement condition, the Irving Avenue area is much more <br />distressed, which would indicate that it is not able to accept an overlay. The <br />pavement condition also indicates that in areas the base is failed and needs to be <br />
