<br />Loading area means an area where trucks are parked, maneuvered, loaded or unloaded
<br />of goods, materials or equipment.
<br />Lot, as used in article IV ofthis chapter, means an area within a manufactured home park
<br />designed and used for the accommodation of a manufactured home.
<br />Lot, means a parcel of land designated by plat, metes and bounds, registered land survey,
<br />auditor's plot, or other accepted means and separated from other parcels or portions by
<br />such description for the purpose of sale, lease, or separation thereof.
<br />Lot, butt, means a lot at the end of a block and located between two comer lots.
<br />Lot, corner, means a lot bordered on at least two adjacent sides by adjoining streets.
<br />Lot depth means the minimum horizontal distance between the front lot line and the rear
<br />lot line.
<br />Lot, double frontage, means a lot of which opposite ends abut on a street.
<br />Lot width means the horizontal distance between side lot lines, measured at the required
<br />front setback line.
<br />Lot area. In R -1 a unsewered and A-I zoning districts, lot area means the horizontal land
<br />area within the lot lines but not including any land within a public right-of-way or any
<br />area occupied by rivers, streams, or lakes. The buildable area shall be contiguous and
<br />shall be a minimum of one acre in area. In all other zoning districts, lot area means the
<br />horizontal land area within the lot lines, but not including any land within a public right-
<br />of-way or any area occupied by rivers, streams, or lakes.
<br />Lot coverage means the total allowable amount of lot area, expressed as a percentage,
<br />which may be covered by a principal use and its accessory structures.
<br />Lot of record means any lot or unit of land in an auditor's subdivision or a registered land
<br />survey for which a deed, plat, auditor's subdivision or registered land survey has been
<br />recorded in the office of the register of deeds or registrar oftitles for the county.
<br />Lower facade means the portion of the facade that includes the storefront, the transom
<br />and the stringcourse.
<br />Maintenance, as used in article III of this chapter, means upkeep of property and
<br />equipment in a safe working condition for which it was installed and/or constructed.
<br />Maintenance, as used in article VI, division 5, subdivision II, of this chapter, means the
<br />cleaning and painting of a sign in a manner that does not alter the basic copy, design, or
<br />structure ofthe sign.
<br />Mansard means a sloped roof or roof-like facade architecturally comparable to a
<br />building wall.
<br />Manufactured home, as used in article IV of this chapter, means a structure, not affixed
<br />to or part of real estate, transportable in one or more sections, which in the traveling
<br />mode is eight feet or more in width or 40 feet or more in length, or, when erected on-site,
<br />is 320 or more square feet, and which is built on a permanent chassis and designed to be
<br />used as a dwelling with or without a permanent foundation when connected to the
<br />required utilities, and includes the plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and electrical
<br />system contained in it. A manufactured home is a dwelling.
<br />Manufacturing, heavy, means a use engaged in the basic processing, manufacturing,
<br />packaging, assembly, compounding or treatment of materials or products predominantly
<br />from extracted or raw materials, or a use engaged in storage of or manufacturing
<br />processes using flammable or explosive materials, or storage or manufacturing processes
<br />that potentially involve hazardous or commonly recognized offensive conditions.
