Paul MnDOT
officials be invited to take a first hand look at Elk River's dilemma, being located between
Highway 101 and Highway 169 north of Elk River which will be freeway-type roadways.

Ms. Johnson noted that a Regional of the Minnesota League of Cities meeting will be held in
Monticello September 28th which will be attended by a number of candidates and League
representatives. She felt it would be helpful to have the support of the League to help put
pressure on MnDOT, and possibly introduce legislation to help other cities who are willing to
"step up to the plate" as Elk River is, by paying for the Highway 169 Study. Ms. Johnson noted
she will email the details of the meeting to the Counci1members.

Ms. Johnson noted that a County Transportation meeting will be held Thursday, September 14,
2006 at 2:30 p.m.

8. Adjournment

There being no further business, Mayor Klinzing adjourned the meeting of the Elk River City
Council at 7:22 p.m.

Minutes prepared by Debbie Huebner.
