<br />City Council Minutes <br />September 11, 2006 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />5.2. <br /> <br />2007 Bu<lget and Tax Levy <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />City Administrator Lori Johnson reviewed the various options the Council has for the proposed <br />2007 levy. The Council is asked to consider the following resolutions: <br /> <br />A. Resolution Authorizing the 2007 proposed Maximum Property Tax Levy <br />B. Resolution Establishing the 2007 Tax Levy for the Economic Development Authority <br />C. Resolution Establishing the 2007 TaxLevy for the Housing and Redevelopment <br />Authority <br /> <br />MOTION BY COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING THE 2007 PROPOSED MAXIMUM PROPERTY TAX LEVY AT 10 <br />PERCENT. The motion failed. <br /> <br />MOTION BY COUNCILMEMER DIETZ AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUMPHREY TO APPROVE RESOLUTION NO. 06-104, <br />AUTHORIZING THE 2007 PROPOSED MAXIMUM PROPERTY TAX LEVY AT 11 <br />PERCENT. MOTION CARRIED 3-1. Councilmember Motin opposed. <br /> <br />MOTION BY COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ TO APPROVE RESOLUTION 06-105, A RESOLUTION <br />ESTABLISHING THE 2007 TAX LEVY FOR THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />AUTHORITY. MOTION CARREID 4-0. <br /> <br />MOTION BY COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ TO APPROVE RESOLUTION 06-106, A RESOLUTION . <br />ESTABLISHING THE 2007 TAX LEVY FOR THE HOUSING AND <br />REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />5.3. Motion Calling for Truth in Taxation Hearing and Continuation Date <br /> <br />MOTION BY COUNCILEMBER DIETZ AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUMPHREY TO SET THE TRUTH-IN-TAXATION <br />HEARING FOR MONDAY, DECEMBER 4, 2006, AT 6:30 P.M. WITH THE <br />CONTINUATION HEARING FOR MONDAY, DECEMBER 11,2006 AT 6:30 PM. <br />MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />6. Other Business <br /> <br />Councilmember Motin stated that verbal authorization was given to the Northstar Corridor to <br />move to the fInal design, which is the last stage prior to the funding commitment, and written <br />conftrmation was received last Thursday. He stated that they will be looking at Mayor June 2007 <br />for the ftnal funding commitment. <br /> <br />7. Staff Updates <br /> <br />Ms. Johnson stated she, Mayor Klinzing and City Engineer Terry Maurer will be meeting with <br />Mark Matruska of Senator Mark Kennedy's offtce next Monday, to discuss funding of the <br />Highway 169 Study. <br /> <br />. <br />
