Sanitary Sewer Lateral Benefits <br />Lateral benefit may be provided by connection to trunk, sub trunk or lateral pipes. <br />The calculation of lateral benefit from a trunk or sub trunk pipe will be based on <br />the cost of an 8 inch pipe along the same alignment at a depth adequate to provide <br />services to the abutting properties. <br />2. Infrastructure Rehabilitation Proiects <br />Any project or portion of a project which reconstructs an existing sanitary sewer <br />facility. A rehabilitation project may occur on the existing alignment of the sewer <br />line or on a new alignment, thus allowing the existing line to be abandoned or its <br />status downgraded. (i. e., trunk or sub trunk to lateral). <br />3. Sanitary Sewer Availability Charge (SAC) <br />This is a charge billed to all properties at the time of connection to the sanitary <br />sewer system. The charge is the individual property share of the cost of the <br />interccptor trunk and li~lwlii treatment facilities which make sewer service <br />:.:.;.;.:-:.:-:-:.:.:.:0:.:.:-:.:-:.:.:-:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.: <br /> <br />available. The method used to calculate the total number of units for any specific <br />property and the current unit charge are provided in -the Appendix [I. This charge <br />may not be assessed against the property. <br />B. Determining Sanitary Sewer Assessment Rates <br />1. Sanitary Sewer Interceptor Rates <br />All properties which lie within the approved Service District shall bear the cost <br />of sanitary sewer interceptor projects. The costs shall be spread equally based <br />on a gross area basis within the Service District and will be known as a <br />interceptor assessment. <br />2. Sanitary Sewer Trunk/Subtrunk Rates <br />The lateral and building service assessments described below will be deducted <br />from the total improvement cost to be assessed. The amount remaining after said <br />deductions will be assessed on a gross area basis to all properties within the <br />Service District, and will be known as a trunk assessment and/or subtrunk <br /> <br />-7- <br />
