CU 93-26 <br /> <br />ISSUE <br /> <br />David Gow is requesting a conditional use permit to construct a <br />2,000 sq ft metal skin agricultural accessory structure within <br />a platted area and to keep agricultural animals within a <br />platted area. Attached is the memo to the Planning Commission <br />explaining the project in detail. Also attached is a letter <br />from Mark and Barbara Malzahn commenting on this request. <br /> <br />LOCATION OF REQUEST <br /> <br />20493 Meadowvale Road NW (Lot 4, Block 1, Hilltop Woods <br />Estates), Elk River, MN. <br /> <br />ANALYSIS <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />The proposed metal skin accessory structure will be located in <br />the recently platted subdivision of Hilltop Woods Estates. The <br />site was platted into seven two and one-half acre lots and one <br />twenty acre parcel. The accessory structure will be located on <br />the twenty acre parcel and be used as a stable for Mr. Gow's <br />horses. <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />The Planning Commission recommended approval of this request <br />with the following stipulations: <br /> <br />1. THE COLOR AND ROOF OF THE ACCESSORY STRUCTURE MATCH <br />THE EXTERIOR OF THE HOUSE OR BE OF AN EARTH TONE <br />COLOR. <br /> <br />2. WHEN THE AREA IS FURTHER SUBDIVIDED, THE ISSUE OF THE <br />AGRICULTURAL USE WILL BE ADDRESSED. <br /> <br />3. THE ACCESSORY STRUCTURE BE SETBACK A MINIMUM OF 300 <br />FEET FROM ANY NEIGHBORING DWELLING. <br /> <br />4.
