Economic Development Authority Minutes Januarv 10. 2000 Page 4 e Char Barder indicated that the people associated with the Rivers Edge are in favor of this project as a group. Tony Mikols indicated that the Rotary Club Committee is very interested in this project. Commissioner Motin stated that there are members of the Rotary Club who are not in favor of the project and further that the Rotary Club has not approved the project. Commissioner Dwyer stated that he had a concern regarding whether the project would blend in with what is planned for the downtown area and further stated his concern that the loan does not turn into a grant. Commissioner Bender stated that he felt the project is premature and that a master plan should be considered. Commissioner Klinzing stated that she is in favor of the project. She indicated that there is a group of people showing interest in doing the project and further that any other future plans for the area could be worked around the paddle boat project. Julie Kastendick indicated that the city needs a plan for public space and further noted that the council should consider investing in the downtown area. Commissioner Thompson suggested that the group first raise the money for the project to give the EDA some type of idea as to the interest in the project. e 8. Other Business Executive Director Paul Steinman noted that MAS Technologies recently went out of business leaving a vacancy in the Business Incubator. 9. Adiournment There being no further business, COMMISSIONER MOTIN MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING. COMMISSIONER KLINZING SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0.
