<br />Economic Development Authority Meeting <br />October 14, 1996 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />Discuss Next Steps in Business Incubator Proiect <br /> <br />Paul Steinman indicated to the Commission that he will be presenting a <br />proposal to the County for leasing the former administration building. Paul <br />Steinman also stated he is continuing to work with a private property owner on a <br />program for the Business Incubator. The Commission stated that they would like <br />to discuss a budget for the Business Incubator at their next meeting. <br /> <br />The Commission also discussed renewing the contract with Harlan Jacobs or to <br />possibly keep him on an hourly basis for the next several months, until the <br />Business Incubator project is up and running. <br /> <br />9. Approve Mork Clinic Sale of Building to Health Partners <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER HOLMGREN MOVED TO APPROVE AMENDMENT TO <br />REDEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF ELK RIVER ECONOMIC <br />DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY AND ANOKA MEDICAL PROPERTIES AND MEDCENTERS <br />MANAGED CARE. INC. COMMISSIONER BENDER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> <br />The purpose of this action is to allow the sale of Mork Clinic (owned by Anoka <br />Medical Properties) to Medcenters Managed Care, Inc. <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />Other Business <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER SCHEEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION <br />AND RELEASE OF FORFEITURE BY SCHOOL DISTRICT 728 FOR THE SCHOOL <br />MAINTENANCE BUILDING WHICH IS BEING CONSTRUCTED IN THE INDUSTRIAL PARK. <br />COMMISSIONER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0-2. <br />Commissioner Holmgren abstained due to the short notice provided to the EDA <br />on this issue and Gongoll abstained due to his association as a member of the <br />School Board. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER HOLMGREN MOVED TO HAVE THE NEXT EDA MEETING ON <br />WEDNESDAY. NOVEMBER 13. 1996. AT 5:30 P.M. COMMISSIONER BENDER <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> <br />Paul Steinman. Executive Director, distributed to the Commission two articles on <br />Energy City and Business Incubators. Paul Steinman also stated the Chamber of <br />Commerce is sponsoring a Minnesota Manufacturers Week luncheon at the Elk <br />River Country Club on October 15, 1996, with a tour of Alltool starting at 11 :00 <br />a.m. Paul Steinman also indicated there will be a meeting with potential <br />investors for the Anoka/Sherbume County Capital Fund on Thursday.
