<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Planning Commission Minutes <br />June 28, 1982 <br />Page Nine <br /> <br />Ms. McLean indicated that the proposed styling shop would go do~~stairs from <br />the chiropractor's office at 209 Main Street. <br /> <br />Commissioner Gunkel asked Ms. McLean what would be involved as far as remodeling <br />would be concerned? <br /> <br />Ms. McLean indicated that there would be a public restroom put in downstairs, <br />insulating of the area and remodeling inside would also have to be done. <br /> <br />Chairman Tracy indicated that item #4 of the Conditional Use Standards was a <br />question that would need to be answered. <br /> <br />Commissioner Pearce asked Rick Breezee why this type of operation needed a <br />conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Rick Breezee indicated that this was in a C-3 zone and the only way a beauty <br />shop or a barber shop can operate in this zone was through a conditional use <br />permit. <br /> <br />MOTION BY COMMISSIONER FREDERICKSON TO RECOMMEND TO THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL <br />OF THE CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT REQUEST BY MS. JAN MCLEAN FOR A BEAUTY SHOP TO <br />BE OPERATED OUT OF 209 MAIN STREET. THIS CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT WOULD BE <br />REVIEWED IN TWO YEARS. THE MOTION WAS SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER GUNKEL. THE <br />MOTION PASSED 5-0. <br /> <br />11) Consider Conditional Use Permit Request - William Gass <br /> <br />Mr. William Gass was present to explain his request for a conditional use permit <br />for gunsmithing as a home occupation. Mr. Gass explained that this was not a <br />store; only a repair type of business and this would be run on an appointment <br />only basis. <br /> <br />Commissioner Pearce asked Mr. Gass if this was a single person type of operation. <br />Mr. Gass indicated that it was. <br /> <br />Chairman Tracy indicated that Standards 1, 2, 5, and 6 were okay, Standard 3 <br />was by appointment only with weekends until 5:00 p.m., and Standard 4 was <br />only one person involved. <br /> <br />Mr. Gass indicated that there would be no selling of ammunition and that testing <br />of the guns would be done. at the Gun Club, not at his residence. Also there <br />would be no storage of any ammunition. <br /> <br />MOTION BY COMMISSIONER GUNKEL TO RECOMMEND TO THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL OF THE <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR A HOME OCCUPATION OF GUNSMITHING FOR MR. WILLIA}f <br />GABS, 14021 VICTORIA LANE FOR A PERIOD OF TWO YEARS. THE MOTION WAS SECONDED <br />BY COMMISSIONER KREUSER. THE MOTION PASSED 5-0. <br /> <br />12) Consider Conditional Use Permit Request - Brutger's Company <br /> <br />Rick Breezee indicated to the Planning Commission that a tent trailer was already <br />on the site where Brutger's Co. is doing construction of the townhomes. Mr. <br />Breezee further indicated that the Brutger's Company wanted this trailer because <br />of recent theft and vandalism, and union difficulties. This trailer would be <br />for security reasons only. <br />
