<br />. <br /> <br />The Elk River Planning Commission met on November 8, 1965. The <br />following members were in attendance: Dan Bailey, Les Derr, Dick <br />Gongoll, Paul Siegler, John MacGibbon and H. L. Johnson. Also present <br />was Jerry Spencer from the County Planning Commission to report the <br />action of the County Board of Commissioners relative to planning. <br /> <br />He advised that the County Planning Commission had recommended to <br />the County Board and that the County Board had resolved to enter the <br />701 planning program with the intent of hiring a Planning Consultant <br />and that they had volunteered cooperation with the Village of Elk River <br />or any other village in the County in a joint effort toward planning. <br /> <br />There was general discussion of ways to implement progress in this <br />area on a joint basis and it was agreed to keep in touch with the County <br />Planning Commission in the selection of a planning firm. It was also <br />decided to contact t~ proper people in Wright County to try to learn <br />something about the planning job that had been started there. Mr. Spencer <br />was to advise when such a meeting might be arranged and at this point <br />he left the meeting. <br /> <br />There followed a general discussion of the financing necessary in the 701 <br />program and the timing that would be required for this. It was decided <br />that Mr. Gongoll would report progress and general financial requirements <br />. to the next council meeting. <br /> <br />It was decided to set up a regular meeting on the last Monday of each <br />month at the First National Bank at 7:30 p. m. <br /> <br />Siegler volunteered to contact some planning firms with the intent of trying <br />to learn something about their availability in the coming year. <br /> <br />Action was taken to recommend to the Village Council that they clarify <br />their permit issued to the Guardian Angels Foundation for the Senior <br />Citizens proj ect. <br /> <br />. <br />
