<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Meeting of July 26, 1965 <br /> <br />Members Present: Derr, 'ongoll, lu1hnson, Siegler, Dan Bailey. <br /> <br />Meeting was called to order by Dan Bailey who introduced a representative <br />of the Community Planning Commission of the Department of Business <br />Development, Ron Kaliszewski. The next steps under the "701" program <br />were discussed at considerable length and the following items were some <br />that were mentioned: 1). the village council should resolve that the "701" <br />program shOUld be entered into with a sureness that the one-third share <br />of costs will be appropriated by the village and the consultants may be <br />selected. 2). After selection the council must resolve that a grant be <br />requested from the Federal Government and that the one-third share will <br />be available. This share may be paid in two fiscal years. 3). Limitations <br />of-tl~ ]5tU ~Mt:cl 3tCf'~ of the community planning division are the professional <br />planner must be qualified and that the grant must be used for planning <br />purposes. The consultant chosen should be interviewed with attention given <br />to previous work done by such consultant, his present work load, the <br />availability of the planner in charge, what back up facilities would be <br />available in case such planner left his present position, etc. The state <br />reviews any proposed jobs and advises on appropriateness of cost, ',itUi88 !8L <br />These steps of planning were summarized: a_. inventory and analysis, <br />b. goals and objectives, c. planlpreparation and d. implementation. <br /> <br />The following resolution was presented to the village council: <br /> <br />RESOLVED: <br /> <br />That the Village Council approved continuation of <br />community planning activity to the extent of the <br />commission interviewing professional planning <br />firms to determine the probable cost under "701" <br />program. <br /> <br />RESOL VED: <br /> <br />The planning commission recommends that the <br />specific request from "School Children Shelters, <br />Inc., " of advertising type shelters be denied. <br />
