He also requested that the <br />street/Park Department install some sort of barricade between 193rd <br />Avenue and the railroad trail to stop vehicle traffic from gaining <br />access to the railroad trail. <br /> <br />9. <br /> <br />Jackson Square Parking Lot/Park <br /> <br />Pat Klaers explained the current condition of the downtown park and the <br />improvements that have been proposed by staff. It was the consensus of <br />the Park and Recreation Commission that the plan that max~m~zes the <br />parking which includes improved drainage, new curb and gutter, and <br />bituminous paving was the appropriate approach. <br /> <br />10. Commercial Development Update <br /> <br />Pat Klaers gave a short update on the Elk Park West development, <br />informing the Park and Recreation Commission that City staff has <br />expressed the need for sidewalks and links to the overall trail <br />system. The developer has not come forward with a plan of his final <br />proposal. The Park and Recreation Commission will have an opportunity <br />to comment on the proposal before it goes to the City Planning <br />Commission. This issue will be on the January agenda for more <br />discussion. <br /> <br />11. <br /> <br />City Hall Site and Orono Park Development Discussion <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Park and Recreation Commission to table <br />this item until the 1/6/93 meeting. <br /> <br />Commission O'Brien left at this time. <br /> <br />12. Staff Updates <br /> <br />Phil Hals informed the Park and Recreation Commission that <br />Chuba/Kincanon had come to City staff with a concept plan for a <br />residential development south of Mississippi Road and east of Joplin <br />Street.
