The turf on the soccer fields at the Community Education site is <br />doing much better and it is Phils' opinion that the fields could be <br />used this year if need be. <br /> <br />The irrigation system is installed on the softball field and the <br />two baseball fields at the Community Education site and the grass <br />will be seeded in the next few days. <br /> <br />Phil questioned the Commission about the <br />requirements for the proposed fields because <br />proposal ready for the September 29th City <br />a contractor may be selected yet this fall. <br /> <br />fence and backstop <br />he hopes to have a <br />Council meeting so that <br /> <br />3. Phil suggested that in future years, the Chamber of Commerce be <br />required to keep all carnival rides on the west side of Gary Street <br />for the 4th of July celebration. Phil said he felt Gary Street <br />could be closed for that event and that would leave more park areas <br />for people to enjoy and would certainly be less damaging to the <br />park. The Commission concurred with this suggestion. <br /> <br />9. <br /> <br />other Business <br /> <br />Chair Anderson expressed his frustration with the paper and trash that <br />is left on the roadside after the County fair parade. Pat Klaers said <br />the Park And Recreation Commission will receive more information at a <br />later meeting regarding an upcoming ordinance that will require permits <br />for carnivals and that some sort of deposit for parades could be <br />included in the ordinance and this may help with the problem of trash <br />clean up. <br /> <br />Chair Anderson stated that he had been approached by a resident <br />requesting an archery range in the City. It was the consensus of the <br />Commission that this did not affect enough people to make it worth <br />constructing. <br /> <br />10. Adjournment <br /> <br />There being no further business, COMMISSIONER ROHLF ANDERSON MOVED TO <br />ADJOURN THE MEETING. COMMISSIONER ST. DENNIS SECONDED THE MOTION.
