<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission Minutes <br />December 5, 1990 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />7.2 Phil Hals/St~eet/Park Superintendent <br />Phil Hals reviewed with the Commission an updated cross country <br />skiing map for skiing activities at Woodland Trails Park and <br />surrounding areas. I t was noted that rules for the park and <br />skiing activities would be included on the back side of the map. <br /> <br />Discussion took place regarding cross country skiing signs and <br />park signs to note the trails and park boundaries. The ski trail <br />maps can be installed this year and the trail boundaries <br />identified during the summer. <br /> <br />The Commission reviewed a proposed City park policy as it relates <br />to the shelters at Orono Park and Lion's Park. It was the <br />consensus of the Commission that the policies as presented were <br />acceptable. <br /> <br />Discussion took place regarding Ii tter as it is associated with <br />community events. The Commission stressed the need for a fee to <br />be obtained from the Chamber in order to ensure clean up of Orono <br />Park after the 4th of July celebration. Likewise, it was <br />addressed that a fee needs to be obtained from the Sherburne <br />County Fair Board in order to ensure that the mess and litter is <br />picked up along the parade route. The Commission requested that <br />staff send a letter to the Fair Board to discuss this issue and <br />reach a mutual understanding prior to the next parade in 1991. <br /> <br />Phil Hals reviewed with the Commission the 1991 Park Dedication <br />Fund work program. It was noted that almost the entire work <br />program was completed with the exception of some items in Orono <br />Park. Additionally, it was noted that Lion's Park skating may <br />soon be underway as the rinks are planned to be flooded in the <br />near future. <br /> <br />7.3 Pat Klaers/City Administrator <br /> <br />The City Administrator updated the Commission on pending <br />appointments to the Park and Recreation Commission; the <br />finalization of the Master Park and Recreation Plan by Bill <br />Sanders j the approved Park Budget and Recreation Budget by the <br />City Council and the meeting schedule for the next few months. It <br />was noted that there will be no meeting in January and that the <br />next Park and Recreation Commission meeting will be held February <br />6, 1991. <br /> <br />8. Other Business <br /> <br />No other business was presented at this time. <br />
