<br /> <br />City of Elk River <br />City Council <br /> <br />Resolution 26-08 <br /> <br />A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Elk River Appointing an Interim <br />Deputy Clerk <br /> <br />WHEREAS, By statute, cities are required to have a Council-appointed city clerk. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The city clerk is the keeper of the city seal, responsible for official city <br />records, elections, and City Council administrative support. The clerk or appointed <br />deputy clerk is a signatory to official city documents. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, With the retirement of City Clerk Tina Allard effective December 31, <br />2025, the staff have been recruiting and interviewing candidates for our next city <br />clerk. In the interim, our deputy clerk can attest to the execution of official <br />documents. Unfortunately, for an indeterminate period, our deputy clerk will be out <br />of the office. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River, <br />Minnesota, as follows: To fulfill the official aspects of the city clerk, staff requests <br />you appoint City Administrator Portner as the Interim Deputy Clerk until the return <br />of the deputy clerk or the onboarding of a new city clerk. <br /> <br />Passed and adopted this 2nd day of February 2026. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> John J.
