The city recognizes drug abuse as a potential health, safety, and security problem.
Employees needing help in dealing with such problems are encouraged to use the
Employee Assistance Plan or their health insurance plans, as appropriate.
As a condition of continued employment at the city, all employees must:
■ Abide by the terms of this policy; and
■ Notify the employee's supervisor, Human Resources, or city administrator of any
criminal drug statute conviction arising out of a violation occurring on or off work
premises while conducting city business no later than five days after the conviction.
The city retains the right, at its sole discretion, to report employee conduct violating this
policy to law enforcement officials and to turn over any controlled substances to the
custody of law enforcement officials.
It is the city's continued policy to maintain a drug -free workplace. If you have questions
about this policy, its implementation, or its application to you, please contact the city
administrator or Human Resources.
Page 72187
