The city has the right to monitor individual <br />internet usage and to review individual internet usage logs. <br />Bandwidth Conservation <br />The city provides for access to the internet for several key government functions, such as <br />police access to records and public access to public records. To ensure sufficient <br />bandwidth to access applications, the city implements bandwidth conservation measures, <br />which include blocking websites with no instructional or administrative value. Use of <br />internet radio stations for casual listening and/or background music is strictly <br />prohibited. Employees shall not download music files. <br />Password Policy <br />Passwords protect access to vital city technology resources utilized for daily business. The <br />City Password Policy can be found on Access E/kRiver. The policy outlines the purpose, <br />rules for password use and the composition. <br />Travel Expenses <br />An employee will be reimbursed for actual and necessary expenses incurred when <br />traveling on official city business only upon approval of such expenses by the City Council <br />in accordance with the city Travel Policy. To receive reimbursement, promptly complete <br />the appropriate claim form and submit it to the appropriate department director for <br />consideration and approval. <br />The Travel Policy can be found in the city's Financial Management Policy on Access Elk <br />River. <br />Keys and Security <br />Employees are responsible for securing their work area at the end of each day. Properly <br />secure all confidential files and sensitive information. All keys or electronic access devices <br />in your possession that are for city facilities and/or equipment must be returned to your <br />supervisor upon separation from employment. <br />Personal Use and Disposal of City Property <br />City property and equipment shall only be used in the performance of official city <br />business. City -owned equipment and facilities are not available for personal use by <br />employees. Personal use of city vehicles, machinery, tools, and other equipment is strictly <br />prohibited. <br />As city property becomes obsolete, damaged, or is no longer needed, it shall be disposed <br />of through salvage, trade, public auction, bid, or other means. <br />Page 51 187 <br />Page 122 of 447 <br />
