______________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> <br />TO: <br />ERMU Commission <br />FROM: <br />Mark Hanson – General Manager <br />MEETING DATE: <br />December 9, 2025 <br />AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />6.1a <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br /> <br />DISCUSSION: <br />• Thanks to the outstanding efforts of ERMU’s HR generalist and accounts payable/payroll <br />specialist, open enrollment for our 2026 benefits program is complete. <br />• ERMU’s finance manager, administrations director and I continue to meet with our <br />consultant to provide necessary support for the on-going Cost of Service and Rate <br />Design study. <br />• We received the preliminary results from the ongoing feasibility study for the new water <br />well/treatment plant project. We anticipate the following schedule: <br />o 2026: Modify our existing Well 8 so it can be treated/filtered at our existing <br />Water Treatment Plant 7. <br />o 2027: Drill the test well for the new Well 10. If successful, the full production <br />well will be drilled and tested for treatment needs. <br />o 2028: Design and construct Water Treatment Plant 10 so Well 10 can be <br />pumped, treated, and pushed into the water distribution system. <br />• The Minnesota Municipal Power Agency Board of Directors met on November 25, 2025, <br />at Chaska City Hall in Chaska, Minnesota, and via videoconference. Commissioner <br />Stewart and I attended. The public summary follows: <br />o The Board reviewed the Agency’s financial and operating performance for <br />October 2025. <br />o Participation in the residential Clean Energy Choice program increased by 58 <br />customers. Customer penetration for the program is 6.8%. <br />o The Board discussed the status of renewable projects the Agency is pursuing. <br />150
