UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: FROM: <br />ERMU CommissionMark Hanson – General Manager <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />September 9, 2025 6.1a <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> Staff continue to assemble the necessary documentation to support our submission for <br />the American Public Power Association’s (APPA) Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) <br />designation. The submission packet is due September 30, 2025. An RP3 designation is a <br />sign of a utility's dedication to operating an efficient, safe, and reliable distribution <br />system. ERMU currently holds a Platinum level designation, putting us in the top 10% of <br />the nation’s more than 2,000 public power utilities. <br /> Everlight Solar has appealed the revocation of their solicitation permit. The City Council <br />will hear their arguments at the September 15 council meeting. Administrations Director <br />Sara Youngs will attend to share the feedback received from ERMU customers. <br /> The Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (MMPA) Board of Directors met on August 26, <br />2025, at Chaska City Hall in Chaska, Minnesota, and via videoconference. Commissioner <br />Stewart and I attended. The public summary follows: <br />o The Board reviewed the Agency’s financial and operating performance for July <br />2025. <br />o Participation in the residential Clean Energy Choice program increased by 65 <br />customers.
