4r,;.Z, <br />Elk Riv <br />Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: <br />FROM: <br />ERMU Commission <br />Sara Youngs —Administrations Director <br />MEETING DATE: <br />AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />August 12, 2025 <br />6.1b <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br />• Office walk-in traffic for July consisted of 146 customers, averaging 37 per week over <br />the four -week period. <br />• ERMU disconnections for July <br />o Cycle 1— <br />27 disconnections. <br />o Cycle 2-7 <br />disconnections. <br />o Cycle 3 <br />— 17 disconnections. <br />o Cycle 4-7 <br />disconnections. <br />• Currently there are five active residential solar photovoltaic projects planned or under <br />construction in the ERMU service territory. <br />• The IT department has been managing multiple projects, and the addition of an intern <br />has been a valuable support. The intern has taken on smaller tasks like inventory <br />management and daily help desk tickets, which has allowed Parker to dedicate more <br />time to larger, high -priority projects. <br />• Advanced Metering Infrastructure efforts continue to demand significant attention, with <br />a strong focus on communication and coordination to schedule the remaining water <br />meter replacement appointments. Beginning with the August billing cycle, a manual <br />meter reading fee will be applied to customers who have not completed the opt -out <br />form, do not meet opt -out requirements, or have not scheduled their water meter <br />replacement. These service fees start at $50 per month. <br />• Customer service representative interviews continue. <br />• 1 will be attending the Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association Summer Conference in <br />Rochester, MN, August 18-20, 2025. <br />• A big thank you to Jenny Foss, our Communications Coordinator, for all of her valuable <br />contributions and behind -the -scenes efforts in supporting our summer outreach <br />initiatives. <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />128 <br />
