Staff was asked to research and finalize
the necessary actions to implement commissioner pay. Guidance from the board centered around monthly
compensation of $75, or $900 annually.

Upon our review with counsel, it is advised that compensation be linked to meeting attendance to align with
the statute on HRA pay. As the board supported $900 in annual payments, the recommendation is to pay
commissioners $75 per meeting attended, regular or special, up to $900 per year.

As HRA funds will be the sole source of pay, counsel has advised that the HRA can initiate and authorize this
expenditure without further action needed by the City Council.

Financial Impact
Up to $3,500 in expenditures from the current fund balance for 2025, and a projected budget item of $4,500
going forward.

Mission/Policy/Goal
Support the growth and development of the community.

Attachments
1.
