CONTACT MUST BE MADE <br />THROUGH GOPHER STATE ONE-CALL. <br />15.SLOPE DRESSING ON THIS PROJECT IS DEFINED AS THE TOPSOIL OR OTHER SOIL PLACED <br />DURING CONSTRUCTION TO PROVIDE A MEDIUM FOR ESTABLISHING TURF. <br />16.ANY DEBRIS WHICH MAY BE ENCOUNTERED DURING GRADING SHALL BE DISPOSED OF BY <br />THE CONTRACTOR OFF THE PROJECT RIGHT OF WAY IN A SUITABLE DISPOSAL AREA. <br />17.EXTREME CARE SHALL BE TAKEN SO THAT ALL EXISTING TREES LOCATED WITHIN & <br />ADJACENT TO THE CONSTRUCTION AREAS ARE NOT REMOVED OR DAMAGED, UNLESS <br />NOTED OTHERWISE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT THE OWNER WITH ANY POTENTIAL <br />CONFLICTS. <br />18.UNLESS OTHERWISE RECOMMENDED, PROVIDE FOR ALL SUBCUTS AND BACKFILL <br />ACCORDINGLY THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE PROJECT AS DEFINED ON THE GRADING PLANS. <br />19.PROVIDE 1(V):20(H) TAPERS WHEN CHANGING SUBCUT DEPTHS. <br />20.PIPE SEWERS CONNECTING MANHOLES AND CATCH BASINS SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE <br />WITH MNDOT SPEC. 2503 AND CITY OF ELK RIVER REQUIREMENTS. BEDDING AND BACKFILL <br />SHALL CONSIST OF UNIFORM SUITABLE GRADING MATERIAL MATCHING ADJACENT SOILS <br />UNLESS OTHERWISE DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER. <br />21.NO EXTRA PAYMENT WILL BE MADE FOR TEMPORARY STOCKPILING OF EXCAVATION, <br />EMBANKMENT AND/OR BORROW MATERIAL. <br />22.CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY SHALL BE PERFORMED IN SUCH A MANNER THAT ACCESS IS <br />MAINTAINED TO ALL RESIDENCES. WHERE CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS REQUIRE <br />CLOSURE OF ACCESS TO SITE OR SURROUNDING PROPERTIES, CONTRACTOR SHALL <br />COORDINATE WITH SAID PROPERTY OWNER AT LEAST 24 HOURS BEFORE THE ANTICIPATED <br />ACCESS INTERRUPTION AND ALL ACCESS SHALL BE AT LEAST TEMPORARILY RESTORED <br />EACH NIGHT BEFORE THE END OF THE WORK DAY. EMERGENCY VEHICLE <br />ACCESS SHALL BE MAINTAINED AS WELL. <br />23.AS SHOWN ON THE PLANS, VARIOUS UTILITIES ARE LOCATED WITHIN THE PROJECT LIMITS. <br />THERE ARE ADDITIONAL UTILITIES THAT MAY EXIST AND ARE NOT SHOWN ON THE PLANS. <br />THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE THEIR ACTIVITIES WITH THE AFFECTED UTILITY <br />COMPANIES AND/OR ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNERS AND WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR <br />VERIFICATION AND PROTECTION OF ALL UTILITIES IN THEIR EXISTING LOCATION (POWER <br />POLES, PEDESTALS, ETC.). THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH THE PRIVATE <br />UTILITIES AND/OR ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNERS TO ARRANGE SUPPORTING/RELOCATE <br />AND/OR REPAIRS TO ALL FACILITIES AS NEEDED FOR ALL UTILITY AND STREET <br />IMPROVEMENTS. THE OWNER SHALL NOT INCUR ADDITIONAL COSTS IF THE LOCATIONS OF <br />UTILITIES ARE NOT SHOWN ON THE PLANS FOR FOR DELAYS IN CONSTRUCTION CAUSED <br />FROM CONFLICTS WITH PRIVATE UTILITIES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH <br />SHERBURNE COUNTY, THE CITY OF ELK RIVER, AND ALL UTILITY COMPANIES FOR ANY <br />NECESSARY REMOVAL AND RELOCATION OF THEIR FACILITIES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL <br />PERFORM GRADING OPERATIONS AROUND ALL OVERHEAD ELECTRIC POWER POLES AND <br />GUY WIRES. COORDINATE WITH LOCAL ELECTRIC COMPANY. <br />24.STORAGE AREAS ARE ONLY FOR NEW MATERIALS TO BE INCORPORATED INTO THE WORK <br />OR MATERIALS SALVAGED FROM THE PROJECT THAT ARE TO BE REINSTALLED AS PART OF <br />THE PROJECT. CONTRACTOR WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO STORE PROJECT REMOVAL ITEMS <br />(SUCH AS CONCRETE PAVEMENTS, SIDEWALKS, OLD MANHOLE STRUCTURES, ETC.) FOR <br />LATER DISPOSAL. THOSE TYPES OF MATERIALS SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE PROJECT <br />AREA ON THE DAY THAT IT IS REMOVED FROM ITS EXISTING LOCATION,. THE CONTRACTOR <br />SHALL ERECT A TEMPORARY BARRIER SYSTEM TO PREVENT THE GENERAL PUBLIC FROM <br />ACCESSING THE STORAGE AREA. THE BARRIER SYSTEM SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE <br />ENGINEER AND ERECTED PRIOR TO STORING MATERIALS. THE STORAGE AREAS SHALL BE <br />RESTORED TO EXISTING OR BETTER QUALITY PRIOR TO PROJECT ACCEPTANCE. ALL COSTS <br />INCURRED BY THE CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE, MAINTAIN AND REMOVE THE TEMPORARY <br />BARRIER SYSTEM AND RESTORE THE STORAGE AREA ARE INCIDENTAL TO THE PROJECT. <br />25.CONCRETE WASHOUT SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH MnDOT SPECIFICATION 1717 AND AS <br />MAY BE MODIFIED IN THE SPECIAL PROVISIONS. ALL MATERIALS AND WORK NECESSARY TO <br />CONSTRUCT AND MAINTAIN THE CONCRETE WASHOUT AREA SHALL BE INCIDENTAL TO <br />CONCRETE PAY ITEMS. <br />26.ANY DISTURBED PROPERTY PINS SHALL BE REPLACED AND RESET AT NO COST TO THE <br />OWNER. <br />27.ALL CURB RAMPS & SIDEWALKS SHALL CONFORM TO THE LATEST ADA REQUIREMENTS. <br />28.UTILITY TRENCHES SHALL BE COMPACTED BY THE "QUALITY COMPACTION METHOD". <br />29.THE REMOVAL OF BITUMINOUS/CONCRETE PAVEMENT SHALL INCLUDE ALL NECESSARY <br />SAWCUTS AS INCIDENTAL. <br />30.ALL FIELD TILES CROSSING THE EXISTING AND/OR NEW RIGHT OF WAY SHALL BE <br />PROTECTED AT ALL TIMES.
