Page 1 <br />City of Elk River <br />Event Server <br />Position Description <br />Department: <br />Business Services/Multi-purpose Facility <br />Immediate Supervisor: <br />Concessions Supervisor <br />Pay Grade: <br />$16.00 - $20.00 per hour <br />FLSA Status: <br />Non-Exempt <br />Last Updated: (date) <br />9/2024 <br />Positions Supervised: <br />N/A <br />Position Summary <br />The Event Server prepares and sells concession items, prepares and serves catering items, handles <br />money and makes change, and keeps the area clean and tidy. Responsible for the legal selling and <br />serving of alcoholic beverages. <br />Essential Functions <br />1. Works at catered events. <br />A. Assists in the preparation, set up, and clean up of food and food service area. <br />B. Serves food to event attendees and ensures food supplies remain stocked. <br />2. Responsible for legal liquor sales and service. <br />A. Ensures all patrons are of legal drinking age. <br />B. Prepares beverage booth for liquor sales. <br />C. Maintains cleanliness, organization, and security of work area. <br />3. Provides customer service and maintenance and security of concession area and equipment. <br />A. Prepares and serves food to customers in a polite and professional manner. <br />B. Performs routine cleaning of equipment. <br />C. Notifies Concessions Supervisor of any repairs and/or maintenance requiring <br />attention from a service contractor. <br />D. Monitors and maintains security of the concession area when working. <br />4. Performs financial activities. <br />A. Rings up sales, receipts payments, gives change, etc. <br />B. Maintains change/refund fund in accordance with jurisdiction. <br />C. Coordinates the receipt and money. <br />5. May be assigned as the lead worker in the absence of the Concessions Supervisor. <br />A. Oversees staff to ensure they are preparing items in a proper manner. <br />B. Ensures food is prepared and ready for sale with limited wait time while also limiting <br />excess food items at the end of the day. <br />Page 59 of 197
