inactive duty training, full-time National Guard duty, the commissioned corps of the Public <br />Health Service, and any other category of persons designated by the President in time of <br />war or emergency. As soon as an employee is informed of the dates of the military training, <br />they should notify their supervisor and request a leave of absence, even if they have not <br />yet received written orders. <br />In the case of an employee whose period of military service is less than 31 days, an <br />employee must report back to their job at the first regularly scheduled shift after the <br />completion of military service and the time required for return from the place of military <br />service to the place of civilian employment. An employee called to active duty for more <br />than 30 days, but less than 181 days, must report back to their job not more than 14 days <br />after the completion of their military service. An employee called to active duty for more <br />than 180 days must report back to their job not more than 90 days after the completion of <br />their military service. <br />This Policy is not intended to preclude leave with pay as may be provided in the National <br />Guard and Reserve Leave Policy above. <br />61. JURY/WITNESS DUTY LEAVE <br />Employees will be allowed a leave of absence pursuant to state statute without restriction <br />or sanction when called for jury duty. <br />• An employee performing jury duty or subpoenaed as a witness in court <br />or voluntarily serving as a witness on behalf of the Utilities in a case in <br />which the Utilities is a party will receive the difference between his/her <br />regular rate of pay and the amount received as juror or witness up to the <br />maximum allowed by state or federal law. <br />• The employee must notify his/her supervisor and complete a leave of <br />absence form within 48 hours of receiving call for jury duty. <br />• An employee excused or released from jury duty during his/her regular <br />work hours must report to his/her supervisor immediately thereafter. <br />• Time spent on jury duty will not count as time worked in computing <br />overtime. <br />62. PERSONAL LEAVE DAY <br />Each January 1st, every regular employee will be credited with one day of paid personal <br />leave, which will be available to be taken during the next 12 months, with the scheduling <br />approval of management.
