Holiday Leave <br />Regular, full-time employees are eligible to receive pay for the following holidays: <br />■ New Year's Day <br />■ 1�lartin Luther King, Jr. Day <br />■ Presidents Day <br />■ Memorial Day <br />■ Juneteenth <br />■ Independence Day <br />■ Labor Day <br />■ Veterans Day <br />■ Thanksgiving Day <br />■ Friday after Thanksgiving <br />■ Christmas Eve <br />■ Christmas Day <br />Part-time employees will receive paid holidays on the same basis as regular, full-time employees, except that <br />holiday pay will be pro-rated according to the number of hours worked. To be eligible, part-time employees <br />must work a set schedule with a minimum of forty (40) hours per biweekly pay period. <br />Most temporary and seasonal employees are not eligible for holiday pay. <br />Employees worl�ing a Monday through Friday workweek, holidays occurring on Saturday are observed the <br />preceding Friday and holidays occurring on Sunday are observed on the following 1�londay. <br />When a holiday falls during an employee's vacation or sick leave, the employee will not be charged with vacation <br />or sick leave for the holiday hours, the hours will be considered holiday leave. <br />Although the cin� prefers that employees enjoy the obsen=ed holiday s, emergencies may arise. If a non-exempt <br />employee is required by his/her supervisor to work on an actual holiday, the hours worked (in addition to <br />holiday pay) shall be paid as follows: <br />1. Regular non-exempt full-time and regular non-exempt part-time employees (exclucling employees to <br />which #2 below applies) scheduled for or called in to work on the actual holiday s listed above shall <br />receive one and one-half the employee's regular rate of pay in addition to the holiday pay. <br />2. Holiday benefit-earning liquor store and FT Center employees (excluding senior activit�r center <br />employees) will be given a bank of holidays (8 hours for each recognized holiday) to use throughout the <br />year. Holidays not used will be paid to the employee in December of each year. Employees will not <br />recei�re one and one-half the employee's regular rate of pay if working on a holiday. <br />3. Employees performing emergency or mission critical snow removal shall be paid double time for hours <br />worked on a holiday. For the purpose of this section, the additional pay applies on the actual holiday if <br />different from the day obsen=ed by the city. <br />4. Firefighters shall be paid double time for emergency response and scheduled Fire Watch hours worked <br />on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and <br />Christmas Day. <br />5. If scheduled to work on the actual holiday listed above, non-holiday benefit eligible parttime, seasonal, <br />or temporary employees shall be paid at 1.5 times their regular rate of pay. <br />
