Describe the specific groups of Minnesotans who will be <br />engaged in the arts activities you are proposing as audiences and/or participants. <br />• How have you determined that the proposed arts activities are right for these audiences <br />and/or participants at this time? How do you know that these are the type of activities the <br />intended audiences and/or participants would value? How have you gathered or <br />incorporated input, or taken into account the needs and interests of the intended audiences <br />and/or participants? <br />• How will intended Minnesota audiences and/or participants find out about the arts <br />programming? <br />• Describe the artists who will lead the arts activities. How are they qualified to lead the <br />proposed activities for the intended audiences and/or participants? If artists have not yet <br />been selected, describe the process and criteria that you will use to select them, and <br />provide some examples of qualified artists you’ve worked with in the past. <br />• Describe the team who is responsible for the design, coordination, and direction of this <br />project. If this is not already addressed elsewhere, explain how the team is representative <br />of the relevant stakeholders (e.g., the program director, executive director, administrative <br />coordinator, and majority of participants identify as Hmong American). <br />Review criterion 3: Underserved populations benefit from the applicant’s arts programming. <br />(12 points) <br />For organizations: The applicant’s board and staff reflect the underserved population(s) the <br />applicant’s arts programming is designed to benefit. <br />For individuals: The applicant has an authentic connection with the underserved population(s) <br />their work is designed to benefit. <br />The following are examples of underserved populations that arts programming might be <br />designed to benefit: residents and communities in greater Minnesota; individuals with <br />disabilities; veterans; individuals in institutions; individuals who are Black, Indigenous, or people <br />of color; LGBTQIA+ communities; older adults. <br />• Describe the demographics of the people that your work has consistently benefitted, and <br />your relationship to any key demographic groups over time, if you have not already done so. <br />Demographics include things that participants or audience members have in common such <br />as where they live, their race/ethnicity, ability/disability, and/or other demographics that are <br />important to your work with that group. <br />• For organizations: Reviewers will see the information that you have provided about your <br />board and arts programming staff on the applicant background form. If there is anything that <br />isn’t captured in that form that you want reviewers to know, please explain here. Note: When <br />answering this question, applicants should focus specifically on board members, and on the <br />staff members that hold decision-making roles in relation to administering the arts <br />programming you provide. <br />• For individuals: Reviewers will not see your applicant background form—please use this <br />section to tell reviewers what you want them to know about the parts of your identity that are <br />significant to you or impact your creative work. Consider things like where you live in <br />Minnesota, your race, ethnicity, cultural background, disability, and/or other parts of your <br />identity you wish to share. <br />
