Minnesota State Arts Board
FY 2024 Arts Experiences
Program Overview and Application Instructions page 9

If the applicant is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, the applicant’s legal name in
WebGrants must match exactly the legal name printed on its IRS letter of determination. If
the organization name in the drop-down menu does not currently match, please update your
organization’s legal name in the My Profile tab in the WebGrants main menu. If your
organization uses another name as a publicity name, list that in the Alternate Name field in
WebGrants.
Eligibility Form
Indicate that the applicant has read, understands, and meets all listed eligibility requirements
and is eligible to apply to this program; and that the applicant has read the Tennessen warning.
Artistic Engagement Form
The purpose of the artistic engagement form is to provide evidence that the applicant has an
established history of engaging Minnesota communities in meaningful arts experiences.
Information in this form will help application reviewers evaluate the first review criterion.
Examples of artistic engagement
Applicants must include one to three Web links or attachments as examples of their
engagement of Minnesotans in arts experiences they value. Examples might include Web
pages featuring current or past arts programming, social media highlighting arts activities, video
recordings and visual documentation of participants engaging in the applicant’s arts
programming, promotional materials of past arts programming or activities, evaluation results
from past arts activities, or other examples that demonstrate the first review criterion.
Note: Reviewers will be instructed to spend no more than 10 minutes reviewing examples.

Applicants should double check all Web links and attachments to ensure they are accessible to
reviewers. If submitting news articles or social media examples, consider submitting a PDF or
screenshot rather than a Web link to avoid content being inaccessible behind a paywall or
requiring a website login. If submitting links to Google Drive or other file sharing sites, be sure
that sharing permissions allow anyone with the link to view the content.

All Web links and attachments must remain live and active throughout the review period. They
can be deactivated or removed after grants have been awarded. Examples that reviewers are
unable to access will not be used in the review process.

Attachments may be images (JPG files), text (PDF files), or audio files (MP3). For video, use the
text box to provide a link. When naming files or attachments:
• Use only letters of the alphabet, numerals, underscores, or dashes.
• Do not use commas, periods, other punctuation marks, or special characters, as they may
result in file corruption.
Notes about rights
• The works and the rights to those works resulting from Arts Board grants are the sole
property of the artist(s).
• Artists must not present the work of others as their own work. When adapting,
incorporating, or significantly drawing upon others’ work, proper attribution is expected.
The Arts Board may use submitted work samples in promotional materials and online.
