of City of Elk River <br />lk -�-� IT Network Specialist <br />Rlver Position Description <br />Department/Division: Immediate Supervisor: <br />Business Services/Information Technolo T IT Mana er <br />Pay Grade: FLSA Status: Last Updated: (date) <br />7E Exempt 11 /2023 <br />Positions Supervised: <br />N/A <br />Position Summary <br />Assists the IT Manager in the lifecycle of all cityT information technology solurions to include <br />desktop computers, mobile computers, LAN, WAN, servers, securityT hard�vare/software, <br />telephone systems, switches, routers, and wireless access points. <br />Essential Functions <br />Provides support for the entire computing environment. <br />A. Implements, administers, supports, troubleshoots, documents, and maintains the <br />cit�T net�vork infrastructure. This includes Local Area Network / Wide rlrea <br />Net�vork equipment, switches, routers, wireless controllers/ and access points. <br />B. Manages firewalls, security applications, and virtual private networks while <br />adhering to the Criminal Justice Network Requirements. <br />C. Traces, documents, patches, and tests fiber and copper cabling infrastructure. <br />D. Ensures net�vork and applications are accessible to users with miiiirnal <br />interruptions and optimal performance. <br />E. 1�laintains, recommends, and implements syTstems securityT. <br />F. Supports PC hard�vare including desktops, notebooks, mobile PC's, printers, <br />scanners, tablets, and other hardware devices. <br />G. Supports and manages the virtual desktop environment. <br />H. Supports desktop operating s�-stems. <br />I. Ans�vers user questions on hardware, printing, Internet, and messaging issues. <br />J. Supports and manages phyTsical and virtual servers. <br />K. Supports desktop shrink-wrapped applications such as 1�licrosoft Office, web <br />browsers, and antivirus. <br />L. Supports the various business applications used within the cityT. <br />M. Creates and manages user accounts in the various systems including netwoYk logon, <br />messaging logon, and securityT syTstem. <br />N. Restores an�T deleted files for end users. Conducts project research, evaluations, <br />recommendations, and implements solutions as directed. <br />O. Troubleshoots infrastructure issues, including telephone, voicemail, servers, and <br />securit�T. <br />P. Works with vendors to resolve problems and schedule repairs. <br />Q.
