 Skill and ability to apply firefighting techniques and procedures. <br /> Skill in operating and directing various firefighting apparatus and equipment. <br /> Ability to communicate well through written and verbal means. <br /> Ability to speak in front of a crowd and to make a presentation. <br /> Ability to deliver sound and effective training. <br /> Ability to present a positive and professional image of the city and the fire department. <br /> <br />Assistant Instructor Minimum Qualifications <br /> This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of one (1) year <br />firefighting experience. <br /> Minnesota State certified NFPA 1001 Firefighter II. <br /> Ability to participate in fire suppression and rescue activities which may require <br />lifting/carrying up to 100 pounds, standing, walking, crawling, bending, stooping, climbing <br />stairs and ladders, working at extreme heights, and working outdoors in all conditions. <br />Lead Instructor Minimum Qualifications <br /> Must meet the Minimum Qualifications for Assistant Instructor and; <br /> NFPA 1041 Fire Instructor I or Bachelor’s degree in education <br /> Experience delivering fire department training. <br /> MBFTE 1001 Qualified Instructor <br /> <br /> <br />This Position Description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
