Minutes of the Sherburne/Wright County Cable Commission <br />Thursday, December 15, 2022, 1:00 p.m. <br />Present: Chair Tina Allard (Elk River), Vice Chair Gina Wolbeck (Big Lake), Commissioners <br />Taylor Gronau (Buffalo), Laureen Bodin (Buffalo), Terri Boese (passel), Renee <br />Eckerly (Maple Lake), Jennifer Schreiber (Monticello), Jake Foster (Watertown) <br />Absent: Paula Baumann (Delano); Dan Madsen (Rockford) <br />Also present: Technology Consultant Bill Bruce, Attorney Bob Vose <br />Call to Order — Chair Allard called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. <br />2. A!puroval of Minutes — November 21, 2021 meeting <br />Commissioner Boese made a motion to approve the November 21, 2021 minutes as <br />amended. Seconded by Commissioner Wolbeck. Unanimous ayes, motion carried. <br />Treasurer's Report <br />a. Financial Statements — Laureen Bodin presented the financial statements as outlined in the <br />staff report. <br />Bill Bruce noted that there is a need to upgrade video signal equipment (Nexus) in the <br />cites of Elk River, Big Lake, Monticello, and Cokato. The cost would be approximately <br />$11,000 - $15,000 per city, with a total cost for the four cities, including labor, being <br />$50,000 - $60,000. <br />Commissioner Boese made a motion to rebate half of quarter two and all of quarter <br />three in the amount of $264,391.78. Seconded by Commissioner Wolbeck. <br />Unanimous ayes, motion carried. <br />Commissioner Wolbeck made a motion to accept the financials. Seconded by <br />Commissioner Boese. Unanimous ayes, motion carried. <br />Commissioner Eckerly made a motion to keep the financial reporting with the City <br />of Buffalo (Taylor Gronau). Seconded by Commissioner Boese. Unanimous ayes, <br />motion carried. <br />4. Attorney's Report <br />Bob Vose, Buffalo City Attorney, provided an overview of Tekstar, a sub entity of Arvig, who <br />is interested in a franchise agreement with the City of Elk River. The agreement would be <br />primarily the same agreement that is with Charter. <br />Mr. Vose also gave an update of the cable industry and the projection of future cable fees. <br />There hasn't been an increase in revenue even though cable fees have been increasing. This is <br />due to the loss of customers. <br />
