<br />Prosource Technologies <br />December 19,2005 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />Plannin~ Commission Meetin~ <br /> <br />At the Planning Commission meeting held on December 13th, no one spoke at the public <br />hearing. The applicant explained the engineering and design involved regarding the possible <br />collapse of the tower. The Commission voted 7:0 to recommend approval of the zone <br />change and conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Rezoning <br /> <br />The Planning Commission and staff recommend that the City Council approve the proposed <br />rezoning request to AT based on the following findings: <br /> <br />1. The proposed rezoning is compatible with the surrounding land uses. <br />2. The proposed rezoning is necessary in order to provide effective wireless <br />telecommunication coverage for the city. <br />3. The rezoning is in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan for the city. <br /> <br />Conditional Use Permit <br /> <br />The Planning Commission and staff recommend that the City Council approve the <br />conditional use permit for a 150 foot tall wireless tower and supporting equipment facility <br />based on the finding that it complies with the standards found in Section 30-654 and with <br />the following conditions: <br /> <br />1. The applicant and the City enter into a lease agreement outlining the terms and <br />conditions of the tower construction, operation, access and maintenance. <br />2. The exterior of the shelter shall match the exterior of the Public Safety Building. <br />3. The site shall be screened from the softball fields with plantings. The proposed <br />evergreens shall be planted on the west and north sides of the fenced area <br />4.
