<br />Approval of Local Equipment Plan. Terms for Operating and Replacement Costs <br /> <br />Agreement between Sherburne County and the <br /> <br />City of Elk River <br /> <br />As authorized at its December 19,2005 Meeting <br /> <br />The Elk River City Council did review and agrees to the terms of the Sherburne County <br />Local Equipment Plan for Using Assistive Voting Technology, whereby at least one <br />AutoMark machine will be furnished to each Town and City Polling Place for the Fall 2006 <br />Elections; and that Sherburne County will have 2 backup AutoMark machines for purposes <br />of testing programs and to be dispatched to polling places on Election Day, as needed. <br /> <br />Sherburne County will store the AutoMark equipment at no cost to Cities and Townships <br />and will cover the cost of insurance for all equipment stored by the County. <br /> <br />Training on how to operate the equipment will be provided during the Summer of 2006 or <br />before any Federal or State Elections are held in 2006. <br /> <br />Transportation will be provided, at the discretion of the County Auditor. Sufficient <br />notification will be made to the Town, City or School District when it will be necessary for <br />the equipment to be picked up instead. <br /> <br />Programming and supplies (printer cartridges, etc.) will be paid by the County for Federal, <br />State and County Elections; and will be paid by the local government for its local elections, <br />or costs will be prorated for combined elections. <br /> <br />To maintain the integrity of the equipment, as it does for maintenance of the M100 <br />equipment, Sherburne County will pay the continued maintenance costs for the AutoMark <br />equipment. <br /> <br />The cost of any replacement equipment will be the responsibility of the Townships and <br />Cities. <br /> <br />When necessary (after 2007), agreements for rental of the equipment by a School District for <br />School Elections will be between the Townships, Cities and School Board where the <br />Election must be held. <br /> <br />Signed this 19th day of December, 2005 <br /> <br />Stephanie Klinzing, Mayor <br />City of Elk River <br />
