Phil Hals requested approval to purchase the attached ski groomer while <br />it is on sale for $1,600. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER ROLFE ANDERSON MOTIONED TO BUY THE <br />ATTACHED SKI TRAIL GROOMER. COMMISSIONER TUTTLE <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />9. Park Benches <br /> <br />Commissioner Tuttle presented this item (see attached brochures). <br /> <br />8:45 Jeff Asfahlleft <br /> <br />It was discussed to put two (2) 6 foot park benches (item #57 on attached sheets) at <br />the top of the EDA site, to begin with; with concrete slabs underneath them <br />extending out to allow for planters on each side (Keystone planters). <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER ROLFE ANDERSON MOTIONED TO REQUEST TWO, SIX <br />FOOT BENCHES WITH CONCRETE SLABS AND PLANTERS, TO BE PUT <br />AT THE TOP OF THE EDA SITE, DOWNTOWN ELK RIVER. <br />COMMISSIONER TUTTLE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />Phil Hals recommended to go to the City Council to eliminate four (4) parking sites <br />to make room for concrete sidewalk pads for benches. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER ROLFE ANDERSON MOTIONED TO RECOMMEND <br />ELIMINATING FOUR PARKING STALLS TO MAKE ROOM FOR PADS FOR <br />BENCHES. COMMISSIONER TUTTLE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />1995 CaDital Expenditures for Park ImDrovements <br /> <br />Phil Hals added Lion's Park Drainage, ADA items in Orono Park, and backstop <br />fencing in Oak Knoll Park, to this item. Commissioner Dave Anderson asked Phil <br />Hals what his plan and breakdown for Woodland Trails was. Phil stated that he <br />would be in favor of having a contractor come in and pave the trails. Orono Park <br />improvements include; street lights in boat trailer parking lot and beach area (2 on <br />roadway, 2 on pathways). The Elk River Police are recommending lights on the <br />pathways. The Lion's dedicated $25,000 this year for Lion's Park improvements. <br />Lion's Park improvements include installation of trails, handicap trail to <br />playground, drainage. Heritage Landing, Country Crossing, Meadowvale Heights, <br />improvements include installation of trails. Oak Knoll improvements include <br />installing a base for trails (see item 10 on handout). All recommended <br />improvements may be found on agenda memo dated 6/14/95. Chairperson, Dave <br />Anderson, prioritized these items as 1. Trail installations, 2. Lion's Park <br />improvements. The revised costs for improvements include: Lion's Park- $2,000; <br />Orono Park (ADA pathways)- $1,000; Oak Knoll Park, backstop fencing- $4,100 <br />(recommended that the baseball players pay for class II granite base), trails- $1,500. <br />
