<br />General Fund — Expenditures
<br />The graph below represents the breakdown of expenditures by department. Public safety continues to
<br />comprise the largest portion of General Fund expenditures, representing 48.4%. Overall, General Fund
<br />expenditures increased $1,834,181, or 10.9%, from 2021.
<br />Public safety expenditures increased $764,651 with higher salaries and benefits along with additional
<br />costs for utilities and repair and maintenance needs. Culture and recreation increased $382,524 when
<br />compared to the prior year with increases in personnel costs along with additional operating supply
<br />needs as programs with continued recovery after the impact of COVID. General government
<br />expenditures increased $289,995 with increased wages for employees, higher utility costs, and larger
<br />repair and maintenance expenditures.
