If approved, such work shall be subject to requirements furnished in writing by Owner, and no extra compensation will be allowed. 1.04 Surveying and Construction Observation A. Engineer shall provide engineering surveys to establish reference points for construction which in Engineer's judgment are necessary to enable Contractor to proceed with the Work. Contractor shall be responsible for laying out the Work, shall protect and preserve the established reference points and property monuments, and shall make no changes or relocations without the prior written approval of Engineer. Contractor shall report to Engineer whenever any reference point or property monument is lost or destroyed or requires relocation because of necessary changes in grades or locations, and shall be responsible for the accurate replacement or relocation of such reference points or property monuments by professionally qualified personnel. B. The Contractor shall give the Engineer at least 48 hours prior notice (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays) in advance of the need for establishing reference points, grade checks, and observation of Work. 1.05 Project Meetings A. Administrative Requirements: 1. Project Superintendent or persons designated by the Contractor to attend and participate in the Project meetings shall have all required authority to commit the Contractor to solutions agreed upon in the Project meetings. 2. Engineer will set the time, sites, and prepare the agenda for the meetings. 3. Engineer will prepare meeting minutes and distribute 1 copy to Contractor. Notify Engineer of inaccuracies or discrepancies in the meeting minutes within 5 calendar days of receipt of the minutes. 4. The attendance and cooperation of subcontractors and suppliers may be required B. Preconstruction Conference: 1. Before any Work at the Site is started, a conference attended by Owner, Contractor, Engineer, and others as appropriate will be held to establish a working understanding among the parties as to the Work and to discuss the schedules, procedures for handling Shop Drawings, Samples, and other submittals, processing Applications for Payment, electronic or digital transmittals, and maintaining required records. 2. Engineer will provide initial Application for Payment Form at the Preconstruction Conference. 3. Contractor shall provide a proposed progress schedule including the anticipated start and completion dates of each activity duration estimated to be 3 days or longer. C. Progress Meeting Procedures: 1. Status Meetings may be held when construction activity is occurring on the Project as requested by the Engineer.
