Project Manual <br />Houlton Conservation Area Bank Stabilization — Dam Site <br />day. If approved, such work shall be subject to requirements furnished in writing by Owner, <br />and no extra compensation will be allowed. <br />1.04 Surveying and Construction Observation <br />A. Engineer shall provide engineering surveys to establish reference points for construction <br />which in Engineer's judgment are necessary to enable Contractor to proceed with the Work. <br />Contractor shall be responsible for laying out the Work, shall protect and preserve the <br />established reference points and property monuments, and shall make no changes or <br />relocations without the prior written approval of Engineer. Contractor shall report to <br />Engineer whenever any reference point or property monument is lost or destroyed or <br />requires relocation because of necessary changes in grades or locations, and shall be <br />responsible for the accurate replacement or relocation of such reference points or property <br />monuments by professionally qualified personnel. <br />B. The Contractor shall give the Engineer at least 48 hours prior notice (excluding Saturdays, <br />Sundays, and legal holidays) in advance of the need for establishing reference points, grade <br />checks, and observation of Work. <br />1.05 Project Meetings <br />A. Administrative Requirements: <br />1. Project Superintendent or persons designated by the Contractor to attend and <br />participate in the Project meetings shall have all required authority to commit the <br />Contractor to solutions agreed upon in the Project meetings. <br />2. Engineer will set the time, sites, and prepare the agenda for the meetings. <br />3. Engineer will prepare meeting minutes and distribute 1 copy to Contractor. Notify <br />Engineer of inaccuracies or discrepancies in the meeting minutes within 5 calendar days <br />of receipt of the minutes. <br />4. The attendance and cooperation of subcontractors and suppliers may be required <br />B. Preconstruction Conference: <br />1. Before any Work at the Site is started, a conference attended by Owner, Contractor, <br />Engineer, and others as appropriate will be held to establish a working understanding <br />among the parties as to the Work and to discuss the schedules, procedures for handling <br />Shop Drawings, Samples, and other submittals, processing Applications for Payment, <br />electronic or digital transmittals, and maintaining required records. <br />2. Engineer will provide initial Application for Payment Form at the Preconstruction <br />Conference. <br />3. Contractor shall provide a proposed progress schedule including the anticipated start <br />and completion dates of each activity duration estimated to be 3 days or longer. <br />C. Progress Meeting Procedures: <br />1.
