City of Elk River Design Standards <br />END OF SECTION 3400 <br />Section 4000 — Sanitary Sewer Design <br />Design Criteria <br />Sanitary sewer design shall conform to the latest edition of the Ten State Standards, APWA, and <br />MPCA standards. <br />2. Sanitary Sewer S�-stem installation and testing shall be in accordance with CEAM standard <br />specifications e�cept as modified herein. <br />3. Sanitary sewer extensions shall consider each residence to include 3.3 people on the average. <br />4. Sewage flow design rates shall be 110 gallons per person per day. <br />5. 1��inimum flow �relocities for sanitary sewer shall be 2.5 fps; maximum flow velocities shall be <br />10.0 fps. <br />6. Commercial and industrial developments shall consider design flows on a case-by-case basis. <br />7. All sanitary sewer extensions shall be laid as low as practical to m;nimize the need for future lift <br />stations. <br />8. Connections to e�sting sanitary sewer manholes shall be core drilled and fitted with water�ight <br />elastomeric rubber boots. <br />9. All drop sanitar5- sewer manholes over two feet shall be constructed as outside drops; inside <br />drops will be allowed on a case-by--case basis as approved by the City Engineer. Only <br />In�saFlowOO inside drops will be considered. <br />10. Sanitary sewer manholes shall be located on street centerline whenever possible. When <br />manholes are not located on centerline, a station/offset shall be shown on the Plans to ensure <br />that manholes are not located within wheel paths. <br />11. Sanitary sewer manholes will not be allowed in rear or side yards. <br />12. Sanitary sewer manholes shall have a 1-foot section under the cone. <br />13. Sanitary sewer services shall not be extended from manholes. <br />14. Sanitary sewer manholes shall be provided with a minimum 0.10-foot drop from inlet to outlet <br />pipe. <br />15. All sanitary sewer manholes shall utilize Cretex Pro-Ring or approved equal for �ill grade <br />adjustments. <br />OO City of Elk River, Minnesota — All rights reserved 20 <br />
