<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 3, 1911 <br /> <br />The Common Council met at the office of Babcock store. <br /> <br />Members present: Burns F. Plummer, President, Geo. Worden, Ted Babcock, trustees, Geo E. Page <br />absent, Whitman, recorder. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order at 8:15 p.m. by the President. <br /> <br />The following resolution for reincorporation made by Babcock, seconded by Worden, was adopted. <br /> <br />Resolution of The Common Council of The Village of Elk River <br /> <br />th <br />? appearing that on the 28 day of December 1910, a petition of over fifty resident voters of the Village <br />of Elk River, having been filed with the recorder of said Village >raying a special election be called for <br />the purpose of reincorporating said Village under the general law, pursuant to chapter 9 of the revised <br />laws of Minnesota for the year 1905, and all acts and part of acts amendatory thereof, and it further <br />appearing that at least ten days posted notice and one week published notice of said special election had <br />th <br />been duly given, and the common council of the Village of Elk River having designated the 10 day of <br />January, 1911 for the holding of said special election and it appearing further that at said election so <br />held there were 133 votes for reincorporation and 7 votes against it, and it appearing that a majority for <br />said reincorporation had been duly voted by the voters of said Village. <br /> <br />Now, therefore, be it resolved that we the Common Council of the Village of Elk River do hereby <br />declare that a majority of all the votes cast at the said election were cast in favor of sun reincorporation <br />and that the Village of Elk River is now duly reincorporated under said chapter 9, and all acts and parts <br />of acts amendatory thereof, pursuant to the statues in such cases made and provided. <br />rd <br /> Given under our hands this 3 day of February, 1911 <br /> B.L.
