HIGHWAY 10 CORRIDOR STUDY - FINAL REPORT <br />Stakeholder and Public Engagement Round 1 <br />To introduce the study and confirm the existing conditions along Highway 10, the study team <br />facilitated a variety of public and stakeholder activities as discussed below. <br />Technical Advisory Board Meeting <br />The first Technical Advisory Board (TAB) meeting was held in October 2020. The primary goal of the <br />meeting was to introduce the study, discuss the role of the TAB, review the study schedule, and <br />present preliminary technical information from the existing conditions analysis. The presentation and <br />meeting summary from TAB meeting 1 is in AppendixA. <br />Focus Group Meetings <br />The first virtual focus group meetings were held in November 2020. There were separate meetings <br />held with representatives from the local business community and representatives from the freight <br />hauler community. Each meeting included a brief presentation followed by an open discussion with <br />attendees. A map of the study area was utilized to gather feedback on issues and opportunities in <br />the study area with regards to the existing conditions along Highway 10. Detailed feedback received <br />is in Appendix A. <br />There were four businesses represented at the focus group meeting, the study team learned the <br />following: <br />Primary concerns were access on/off Highway 10, safe and unsignalized <br />intersections, and high speeds along the corridor. <br />Important to consider frontage/backage roads in future recommendations. <br />/ <br />There were three freight haulers represented at the focus group meeting, the study team learned the <br />following: <br />Primary concerns were access on/off Highway 10 and safe and <br />unsignalized intersections. <br />Ir Important to have easy access on/off Highway 10 versus having a high <br />mobility or reduced travel times along the corridor. <br />Important to accommodate large trucks in future recommendations. <br />Concern with innovative intersection alternatives (e.g., reduce conflict <br />intersections) not being able to adequate accommodate large trucks. <br />U <br />
