C7 <br />Patks & Recreation Commission Minutes <br />March 14, 2018 — <br />Page 3 <br />recommend to City Council to accept park dedication for the plat of Riverplace <br />Second Addition be paid for 40 dwelling units at the rate applicable when the <br />subdivision is released for recording. This will be $57,037.20 at the 2018 km density <br />rate. Motion carried 7-0. <br />5.2 Arena Commission Member Nomination <br />Mr. Hecker presented his staff report <br />Moved by Commissioner Holmgren and seconded by Commissioner Ahlness to <br />nominate Commissioner Williams as the Arena Commission Member Liaison. <br />Motion carried 7-0. <br />5.2.1 Establish a Community Based Group for Woodland Trails Regional Park <br />Grant <br />Chair Anderson stated that Woodland Trails Regional Park is described as our most <br />popular park and thought it to be a good idea to seek out community members to be <br />involved with proposed projects, tours, assist and review design plans, participate in Open <br />Houses, clean up of post installation. <br />Commissioner Soltvedt asked if there will be an application or see who would like to be <br />involved. <br />Chair Anderson stated that the Park Steward would be a good one to invite people to <br />present at the commission. There is a much larger community out there of park users that <br />we need to seek out to be a part of making this park even more magical. Stating he <br />proposes to round up some folks and bring them in to meet with the commission <br />members to see what members think. <br />Mr. Hecker shared that the next agenda item will cover the timeline and community <br />involvement in the project <br />Moved by Commissioner Niziolek and seconded by Commissioner Williams to <br />recommend to City Council to form a committee — Friends of Woodland Trails to <br />be players in the design process. Motion carried 7-0. <br />Commissioner Holmgren asked that the role of the group be explained. <br />Chair Anderson shared that the Friends of Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge raise <br />money, volunteer and hold festivals to bring community together. He stated there is a <br />core of volunteers of Woodland Trails Regional Park and if there are shelters and a <br />playground this group could offer support in holding activities there. <br />t'I�EIEI INANWEE] <br />
